When someone close to you dies there are so many things that need doing. The list can feel overwhelming.

It's impossible to create a definitive list that covers every situation as it's a time that's different for everyone, depending on where they or the deceased live, where their death occurred, whether it was expected, etc.

To help you navigate your situation, I've created a simple guide. It's not fully comprehensive as that list would be overwhelming in itself but it's designed to give you a starting point to cover most situations.

The order in which they need to be done will be different for everyone so do ask advice where you can from people who are used to the process, both in a professional capacity and those who have been through something similar themselves fairly recently.
