Hi, I'm Rachel Maunder based in Petersfield, Hampshire, offering independent civil celebrant services for Celebrations of Life, funerals and memorials.

I look for the joy and humanity in everything I do. In my work as a celebrant that translates to bringing an uplifting element to even the saddest occasions.

In the days following the death of someone close to you there can be so many decisions to make and so much to think about, often at a time when you feel least able to do that.

That’s where I come in, to guide and support you through that process.

Completely neutral when it comes to culture, faith or tradition what’s important to me is that your event represents you and/or the person you’re remembering.

I’ll help you find the right words, tone and style to do that.

I’ll start by meeting with you, usually in your home or other suitable venue, so that you can tell me about the person we’re remembering.

I consider it an absolute privilege to hear people's stories and, where needed, to make suggestions for which parts to include and how to share those stories.

Whatever you choose, I’ll be there to support you.

What’s important is that we create something that reflects your wishes and that includes the right levels of dignity, respect and humour.
